ABSENTEE VOTER INFORMATION FOR 2020 NEW MEXICO PRIMARY ELECTION
The primary election in New Mexico is scheduled for June 2, 2020, and the last day to register to vote in the primary is May 5, 2020. Given the current pandemic of the novel coronavirus, the New Mexico Supreme Court ordered the Secretary of State to direct county clerks to mail all registered voters an application for an absentee ballot. However, the application process can be done NOW online. The application takes less than five minutes to fill out and submit.
Absentee ballots must be received by June 2, 2020. For the June primary, early voting begins May 16, 2020, however polling locations and processes are likely to be dramatically different this year than previous years.

Q: When I get the absentee ballot in the mail, what needs to be done? A: The ballot will need to be filled out according to directions and then returned no later than June 2, 2020. A completed absentee ballot can be returned one of three ways:
Via mail, postage is paid by the State
dropped off at the voter’s County Clerk’s Office - will need to check business hours
In-person at any voting location before or on Election Day by 7:00 p.m.
